F3K Team

LVSC is proud to have it's own F3K team with current members Jim Allen, Bill Hall and Jerry Parks. So far in 2016 they have been traveling to several sanctioned events in the western region and have come back with great results.

A little insight...

"Blue Skies Over Utah"

UTAH DLG held their sixth annual “Blue Skies Over Utah” F3K contest, June 25-26, 2016 in Eagle Mountain, UT (about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City,).

"We are proud to be part of the '4-corners' Blue Skies series with NM, AZ, CO, and UT. The setting is a lovely sod farm about 20 miles west of Provo (across the lake and over the mountain from our old field for those who've been here before). Field elevation 4524’. The grass should be good. No shoes required!"

Our own LVSC / F3K team attended this year and was very successful. Jim Allen , Bill Hall and Jerry Parks competed in the 2016 Blue Skies Over Utah hand launch glider contest in Eagle Mountain, Utah. Congrats to Jim Allen for taking first place in the Sportsman class and now moves into Open status for competition . Bill Hall finished 2nd in the Sportsman class.

Jim Allen was well prepared to compete. He finished 4th place in the Sportsman's class at the International Hand Launch Glider Festival in Poway, California.

Good job Jim!

April 2016

Congratulations guys!

Three LVSC members up their game by competing in the 2016 Red Rocks Challenge Discus Launch Glider contest in St. George, Utah. The three members (left to right: Jim Allen, Jerry Parks and Bill Hall) competed alongside some of the world’s best. Entered in the Sportsman’s class, the heats were a mix of sportsman and open competitors that included past and present Team USA members who compete at the World Cup F3K championships. Bill took second place in the Sportsman category and Jim took third place.

The three are already making plans to compete again soon.
